Frontend Developer
Smaïl is a frontend developer who arrived at Verhaert Digital 8 years ago. At the beginning, I was mostly switching between backend, frontend and app development. Over the last couple of years, I’ve been focusing more on frontend.
What do current developments
look like?
For the last year and a half, I’ve been working on a project called Tex Connect that we’re developing for our client Vandewiele. Tex Connect will be used in a weaving factory where they can configure all the necessary steps to weave a carpet from the beginning all the way to the end. The idea behind the project is to gradually move all their clients from their old system to the new web-based platform.
The challenge that comes with solving complex task wouldn’t be possible without the colleagues I work with.
What do you think are the characteristics of a good frontend
developer?
An eye for detail. I can’t emphasize enough how important it is to really pay attention to the small details when developing a frontend project. Since we’re developing platforms that will be used daily by a lot of people, small things really can make a big difference.
What drives you in your job?
The challenge comes with solving complex tasks. This wouldn’t be possible without the colleagues I work with. Brainstorming with the team can be very fulfilling and something where I can be really creative.
