Xavier Hutsebaut
Ophthalmic Project Manager
Xavier Hutsebaut has been working at Lambda-X for 15 years, and since 2019 as Ophthalmic Project Manager. His role at Lambda-X ophthalmic is mostly the technical responsibility of matters linked to the contact lens industry. He’s in the middle of the triangle with customers, sales team and industry/technical team. He makes sure the work performed by the LX team will fulfill the needs of our contact lens industry customers.
What’s the most interesting
project you’ve worked on during
your career at Lambda-X?
In Lambda-X ophthalmic department, we’re selling products and the perspective is a little different in terms of work organization. If I must select one of the recent chapters I’ve worked on, I’ll choose the release of the new NIMOevo-CLE for the metrology contact lenses. Bringing a new product to the market comes with many unexpected challenges covering a broad range of fields.
It’s also satisfying when customers share their gratification with us, or when we’ve succeeded in convincing some customers with our products or development.
What sort of project management
tools do you use?
I’m mostly using 2 tools in my daily work: Microsoft Teams for the communication within the team and across the different players, and JIRA for tracking and managing the work. These 2 tools may seem simple or obvious, but they both offer the necessary flexibility to accommodate for our customer needs and/or technical requirements that are sometimes eager to change during each project or product development.
What do you like most about your job?
I really like the fact my job covers a very broad range of fields, from participating in product definition or commercial discussions up to writing of technical procedures or participating in ISO committees. This also includes hardware and software development. It’s also satisfying when customers share their gratification with us, or when we’ve succeeded in convincing some customers with our products or development.
